My iPhone can locate my airbuds using the find my phone feature, yet when I click the 'play sound' function, my airbuds do not make an identifying sound to assist me in locating them. That was a lot of high-pitched sound-playing during my testing, and I’m so sorry. Per the original question, Im having the same problem and I dont believe the response addressed it. ![]() I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to my neighbors for this tip. Also, you could use to locate them now, too, if you want to see them on a map or play a sound from your computer instead of your iOS device. It doesn’t look like the AirPods can be located unless they’re connected to a paired device, so sadly that means that you can’t find them if you lost them inside their cool case. To reset your AirPods, press and hold the button on the back of the charging case for about 15 seconds. If your AirPods are still not playing sound, then you may need to reset them. Find your AirPods in the list of devices and tap on them to connect. Snarkiness aside, there are a couple of other things to note here. Then, open the Settings app on your device and go to the Bluetooth settings. If the volume on your iPhone is too low, you may not be able to hear audio output from your speakers or headphones. The tone that plays will progressively get louder, so unlike the “Find My iPhone” sound, for example, it won’t just leap straight to “dogs two towns over are howling now” levels of loud. While the sound is playing, you could mute either AirPod if you’ve just lost the left one or the right one. See that “Actions” button at the bottom?
